The Story Behind the Space

I grew up in a house that was never quiet. My parents fostered everything from senior shelter dogs with cloudy eyes to bottle-fed kittens who needed feeding every two hours. That chaos taught me something fundamental: animals aren't problems to be managed—they're individuals with specific needs, fears, and joys.
But I didn't start here. For years, I worked as a residential space planner, helping busy families create homes that actually functioned for real life. I was good at it. I loved the puzzle of traffic flow and storage solutions. Yet I always found myself asking: "Where does the dog bed go?" and "How do we keep the cat's litter box accessible but invisible?"
The real pivot came with Barnaby. He was a trembling terrier mix who hid behind my toilet for three days. Then came Cleo, a rescue cat with more energy than sense. Suddenly, my carefully planned home was a battlefield of anxiety and mischief. I couldn't find advice that addressed my reality: I didn't have a farm for the dog to run on, and I wasn't going to install a $5,000 cat superhighway on my walls.
I started Petibble to fill that gap—the space between clinical veterinary advice and unrealistic home design shows. I wanted to create a resource for people like me: overwhelmed, well-meaning, and desperate for practical solutions that respect both the pet's needs and the human's sanity.
Today, Barnaby sleeps through thunderstorms (mostly), and Cleo has claimed the top shelf of my linen closet as her kingdom. We've found our rhythm, and I'm here to help you find yours. Whether you're dealing with separation anxiety, destructive chewing, or just trying to arrange your furniture so everyone has a view, we'll figure it out together.
This site is my love letter to the messy, joyful reality of living with animals. I hope it helps you build a home where every member of the family—two-legged and four—can truly thrive.
